GRAND RAPIDS, Mich (WOOD) On winter mornings, we are all grateful for a warm home. We know there are families in our community that struggle with heating bills this time of the year. Here’s a way we can help out! it’s Walk for Warmth ‘season’ across West Michigan. Consumers Energy is teaming up wit the Kent County Community Action Agency.
Consumers Energy employees and family members will be taking part in over 30 Walks for Warmth across Michigan this year. They will be raising money to help keep Michigan residents warm. All money we raise will go to Community Action Agencies, which will help people pay energy bills.
Consumers Energy will match every dollar that employees raise. Depending on how much employees raise, we will match up to $2 for every $1 they contribute. In 2015, more than 2,000 employees, family members and friends took part in Walks for Warmth. They and the company raised close to $200,000.
