UNDATED (WOOD) — “Inside Edition” shined a spotlight a program that helps people too nervous to drive across the Mackinac Bridge on their own.
Though Inside Edition’s story aired Wednesday, the Driver Assistance Program has been around for a while.
Overwhelmed drivers can pick up a phone on the south end of the bridge to ask for assistance or ask a fare collector on the north end and authorities will help them cross. One of the best parts of the program: It’s free.
