Man charged in stabbing at Grand Rapids lounge

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — An 18-year-old man has been charged after allegedly stabbing a man at a Grand Rapids lounge.

Javier Moreno was arraigned on Wednesday in 61st District Court on assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder and carrying a concealed weapon charges. His bond was set at $100,000.

The stabbing occurred on Sunday after 1 a.m. inside Yester Years Lounge on South Division Avenue. The victim in the stabbing, 47-year-old Isaac Ramos, was initially hospitalized with life threatening injuries. As of Tuesday, he was in fair condition.

Moreno was arrested on Monday in a backyard in southwest Grand Rapids after police searched two homes in the area of the 1000 block of Sheridan Avenue SE.

He is scheduled to be back in court on Feb. 25, 2016.
