Woman, 81, killed in Orange Twp. crash

ORANGE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A 81-year-old woman died following a crash south of Ionia on Wednesday.

It happened around 6:30 a.m. on M-66 near Peck Lake Road in Orange Township.

According to Michigan State Police, a vehicle was heading southbound on M-66 when it crossed the center line and struck a northbound vehicle.

The driver of the northbound vehicle, 81-year-old Nancy Brogan of Rockford, was taken to the hospital where she later died from her injuries.

The other driver, 71-year-old Marilyn Possehn of Portland, received only minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.

Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash. Brogan was not wearing her seat belt at the time of crash, according to MSP.
