PAW PAW TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A 44-year-old man was arrested after authorities say he allegedly drove drunk while delivery newspapers.
It happened around 2:05 p.m. on Thursday on Paw Paw Road near 38th Street in Paw Paw Township. Van Buren County Sheriff’s deputies say a deputy was at the scene of a traffic crash when the man drove through the area where the road was temporarily closed. The deputy stopped the driver and found that the driver seemed to be drunk.
The driver was arrested after further investigation showed the man’s BAC was more than 5.5 times the legal limit of .08. Authorities searched his vehicle and found several open beer containers.
Authorities say the man had previous convictions for Operating While Intoxicated. He is currently in the Van Buren County Jail on charges of Operating While Intoxicated, Third Offense, and Possession of Open Intoxicants Inside of a Motor Vehicle.
