CASCADE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) – A man who investigators say posed as a job hunter to rob a Kent County restaurant has been formally charged in the case.
Diantae Rashaad Townsend was charged with armed robbery Tuesday in connection to the Feb. 12 crime.
Kent County Sheriff’s deputies said the 19-year-old walked into Romano’s Macaroni Grill on 28th Street in Cascade Township and acted like he was interested in applying for a job.
When Townsend was alone with the manager in her office, he robbed her at gunpoint, deputies said.
Authorities arrested Townsend about 12 hours after the crime.
He remains in the Kent County Jail with $500,000 bond.
