Man arrested for shooting in Holland Township

HOLLAND TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A 27-year-old Zeeland Township man has been arrested in connection to a shooting in Holland Township.

The shooting happened Sunday at a home in the 3700 block of 136th Avenue around 1:50 p.m., according to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department. Initially, deputies received “little cooperation” at the home. Later Sunday, a man had showed up at the hospital with a gunshot wound. The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries.

After receiving tips, police arrested 27-year-old Edwind Isreal Serrato. Police searched his home and found a gun believed to have been used in the shooting.

Serrato arraigned Tuesday afternoon on charges of assault with intent to commit murder and felony firearms. His bond was set at $250,000 cash or surety.
