Stranger approaches Otsego Public Schools student

OTSEGO, Mich. (WOOD) — Otsego Public Schools have alerted parents after a student was approached by a stranger while waiting for the bus Tuesday morning.

School officials sent parents a message stating that one of the high school students was offered a ride to school by an unknown woman in a truck while waiting for the bus.

The student told the driver “no” and the truck drove off.

The student was not injured and told her mom about the incident who then called police.

The driver was described as a woman in her late 30s with brown hair. She was driving a newer red pickup truck.

School officials say this serves as a reminder to parents to stay vigilant and talk to their children about what to do when a stranger approaches. They also encourage parents and students to contact the office personnel immediately if they see anything suspicious around Otsego Public Schools.
