SAUGATUCK TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A woman was injured after she was struck by her own vehicle in a chain reaction crash.

The three-vehicle crash happened on Blue Star Highway just north of M-89 in Saugatuck Township around 6 a.m. Tuesday.

Saugatuck Fire Chief Greg Janik told 24 Hour News 8 a woman got out of her vehicle following a crash with another vehicle on Blue Star Highway.

A pickup truck traveling northbound saw the woman standing outside the vehicle and swerved to miss the woman. Instead the truck hit the woman’s vehicle, which then struck her.

She was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, according to Janik.
