PARK TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Authorities say a woman, her daughter and grandchild were killed in a two-vehicle crash in Ottawa County.

The two-vehicle crash happened around 11:30 a.m. at 152nd Avenue and Quincy Street in Park Township.

Police say Patricia Rayner, 62, of Lake Odessa was heading northbound on 152nd Street when ran a stop sign at Quincy Street and collided with an eastbound truck. Rayner and her daughter, 24-year-old Casey McMaster, were ejected from the vehicle.

Bystanders took the 9-month-old from the backseat and tried to conduct CPR until medics arrived.

Authorities say Rayner and her 9-month-old grandchild, Madi McMaster, were pronounced dead at the scene.  Casey was airlifted to the hospital where she later died from her injuries.

The driver of the truck, 37-year-old Bryan Rotman of Holland, and his two passengers, ages 2 and 5-years-old, suffered minor injuries.

According to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department, Madi was properly secured in a car seat.

24 Hour News 8 spoke to family and friends who were too distraught for an interview, but they offered a few comments.

A family friend said, “Pat just loved her family. She was very devoted to her family.”

“They were almost inseparable,” the friend said about Pat and Casey.
