Joseph Jones appointed GR commissioner

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Grand Rapids leaders have chosen a new city commissioner.

Joseph Jones was unanimously selected by commissioners to represent the city’s Second Ward. He was sworn in at Tuesday night’s commission meeting.

He was one of 11 finalists to fill the seat vacated when Rosalynn Bliss took over as mayor.

Jones is also the president and CEO of the Grand Rapids Urban League.
