MUSKEGON, Mich. (WOOD) – A Ravenna-area teen’s condition is improving, several weeks after she was involved in a crash that killed her younger brother and sister.

A post on the Kubasiak Family Care Page Facebook page shared on Tuesday morning said Emily Kubasiak, 18, was continuing to heal and included a photo of her wearing a neck brace in her hospital room.

Kubasiak was driving on Heights Ravenna Road between Muskegon and Ravenna on Feb. 4 when she lost control of her vehicle and hit an oncoming vehicle.

Kubasiak’s brother, 16-year-old Peter and sister, 10-year-old Erika were passengers in the vehicle.

Erika was not wearing a seat belt and died in the crash. Peter was taken to the hospital for treatment and died six days later.

The driver in the oncoming vehicle wasn’t seriously injured in the crash.

Two funds have been set up for the Kubasiak’s family. Donations can be made at ChoiceOne banks in addition to a GoFundMe page.
