BIG RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A Reed City woman faces larceny charges after allegedly stealing money and Christmas toys from vehicles in the Big Rapids area.
Sarah Haslam, 36, was arraigned Feb. 18 on three counts of larceny from a vehicle and one count of larceny under $200.
She was arrested Jan. 18 following a weeklong joint investigation between the Mecosta County Sheriff’s Office and the Michigan State Police.
The sheriff’s office says Haslam was seen on surveillance video stealing cash from a vehicle at Big Rapids Tow on Dec. 15, 2015.
Three days later, a surveillance camera in a store parking lot captured images of her allegedly stealing multiple bags of Christmas toys from a vehicle.
MSP investigated another incident in which Haslam is accused of stealing from vehicles parked at church on the west side of Big Rapids.
Haslam was released from jail after posting a $5,000 surety bond. She’s expected back in court for a pre-trial hearing on March 23.
