BCPD: One injured in early-morning shooting

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (WOOD) — A man was injured after police say he was shot in the back early Saturday morning in Battle Creek.

It happened around 2:15 a.m. in the 3700 block of West Michigan Avenue. Battle Creek Police say they were called to the scene after witnesses reported a single gunshot being fired. When they arrived at the scene, they found out that the suspect fired a shot at another man in the area. The shot hit the man in the back.

The victim suffered minor injuries and was treated and released. The suspect was lodged at the Calhoun County Jail.
