HOLLAND, Mich. (WOOD) — A 14-year-old girl who ran away from her Holland home has been found safely in Indianapolis, police say.
Holland Department of Public Safety officers were informed around 8:10 a.m. Wednesday that Mary Squiers had run away from her home on W. 13th Street. She was believed to have left sometime between 11 p.m. Tuesday and 6 a.m. Wednesday, probably on foot.
When police looked into Mary’s online activity, they found she planned to walk or ride her bicycle to Indianapolis, where she wanted to meet a man she had met online. Holland authorities contacted police in Indianapolis, who kept an eye on a few addresses.
Wednesday evening, Holland police said Mary had been found unharmed in Indianapolis. She was being held there until her family could go get her and bring her home.
