Crash causes traffic backup on US-131 in Grand Rapids

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A crash caused a traffic backup on northbound US-131 through downtown Grand Rapids on Sunday afternoon.

The multi-vehicle crash happened around 3:30 p.m. in the area of Pearl Street. All three northbound lanes were backed up well past Wealthy Street.

It took about 20 minutes for wreckers to move the vehicles involved in the crash, which freed up one lane for passing cars. All lanes reopened about 45 minutes after the crash.

There is no word on whether anyone was hurt in the crash.

The cause of the wreck was also not known Sunday.
