Police: Man shot in Battle Creek; no arrests

Victims wounds not considered life-threatening, police say

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (WOOD) — Battle Creek police are investigating after one person was shot on Sunday evening.

It happened around 7:30 p.m. on Jericho Road near Cliff Street, according to the Battle Creek Police Department.

Police said officers who responded after the shooting was reported found one man with a single gunshot wound to the lower torso. He was taken to a hospital in Kalamazoo with non-life-threatening injuries.

BCPD said no one is in custody linked to the shooting.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting are not yet known.
