EMMETT TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Police in Emmett Township are asking for the public’s help to find whoever who sneaked into a home and stealing credit cards and a gun.

The home invasion happened around 3 a.m. Friday at a home in the 11000 block of B Drive North in the unincorporated community of Ceresco, according to the Emmett Township Department of Public Safety.

Police say the home invader or invaders made it into the home’s garage, then used keys found in a car to get into the house while its residents were sleeping. They took cash, credit cards, personal items and a handgun and then took off.

When police tracked the credit cards, they found they had been used. Monday, they released surveillance photos that appear to be from a Walmart that may show a suspect linked to the theft and his car, believed to be an older model Oldsmobile Cutlass or Saturn.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Emmett Township DPS at 269.968.9303 or via its Twitter account or Facebook page, or contact Silent Observer.
