CASCADE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A pedestrian was struck by a school bus in Cascade Township Monday morning.

Police say a 75-year-old Cascade Township man was crossing at Cascade Road and Old 28th Street sometime after 8 a.m. when he walked in front of a Forest Hills Public School bus, which had the right of way. There is no signal at the crosswalk.

The school bus driver tried to avoid him, but the man was apparently hit in the head by the mirror on the bus.

The man was alert and conscious before he was taken to the hospital by ambulance.

No one on the bus was injured, but students were transferred off the bus and onto another one.

The crash remains under investigation by the Kent County Sheriff’s Department.
