KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — The director of Kalamazoo’s Public Services Department has resigned.

Kalamazoo City Manager Jim Ritsema announced Thursday that Sue Foune resigned from her position. No further details were released about the reason for the resignation.

Foune had worked for the city for approximately 24 years and was appointed public services director in 2013.

“I am confident that the hard-working employees of Kalamazoo’s Public Services Department will continue to deliver high-quality, professional services to the public and we want to thank Sue for her nearly 24 years of public service,” stated Ritsema in a news release.

The city is expected to begin the search to fill the vacancy soon.
