“be nice.” expands to Muskegon with $250k donation

MUSKEGON, Mich. (WOOD) — The “be nice.” campaign announced plans to expand their program to every school in Muskegon county at the Lakeshore Chamber of Commerce meeting.

With the efforts of Jeff Elhart of Elhart Automotive in Holland, along with Larry Hines of Hines Corporation in Muskegon, the two together have raised $250,000 in funding from area businesses to make this goal a reality.

This 5-year plan will enable k-12th grade schools a financial fund to enact the program in their schools.

“be nice.” is an anti-bullying, mental health education initiative from the Mental Health Foundation of West Michigan that seeks to create positive changes in our culture through simple daily action.

With currently 84 schools actively involved, “be nice.” hopes to continue their expansion as they make the program financial accessible for all districts.
