PAW PAW TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — One person was killed in a two-vehicle crash on westbound I-94 in Van Buren County.
It happened on Thursday around 10:15 a.m. near mile marker 57, southwest of Paw Paw.
Michigan State Police say a Jeep Grand Cherokee struck a Ford Edge in the rear while passing. The Jeep then lost control and ran off the road, hitting a tree.
The driver of the Jeep was pronounced dead at the scene. MSP identified her later Thursday as 32-year-old Esmerelda Bermudez of Traverse City.
The driver of the Ford was not injured.
The crash remains under investigation.
