KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — A boil water advisory for a Kalamazoo neighborhood that included Borgess Hospital has been lifted.
The advisory issued Thursday was for an area bordered by Parchmount Avenue to the north, Nazareth Road to the east, Kenilworth Avenue to the south and Riverview Drive on the west.
City officials say a water main break along Gull Road between Humphrey Street and Riverview Drive caused a drop in water pressure. Such incidents can lead to bacteria in the water. Health officials hadn’t found any bacteria as of Thursday, but issued the advisory anyway as a precaution.
Saturday, the city said it had tested for bacteria and found the water was safe to drink. They lifted the boil water advisory.
