KDPS: Life-threatening wound after stabbing

No suspect in custody after stabbing on Burrell Avenue

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — Kalamazoo police say a man sustained life-threatening wound when he was stabbed Wednesday evening.

It happened before 6:18 p.m. in the 800 block of Burrell Avenue near Ada Street, according to the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety.

Officers responding to a report of the incident found a 44-year-old victim with a stab wound to the chest. He was rushed to Bronson Methodist Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

A suspect had not been arrested as of about 8 p.m.

The victim’s name was not immediately released.
