Man injured in Grand Rapids shooting

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Grand Rapids police are investigating a shooting that sent a man to the hospital.

The shooting happened around 12 a.m. Tuesday in the 800 block of Prince Street SE.

A police office at the scene told 24 Hour News 8 they believe the victim and suspect knew each other.  Witnesses told police they heard yelling before the shooting.

Police said the victim was going into surgery early Tuesday morning, and they do not believe the his injuries are life threatening.

No one is in custody, but police said everyone is cooperating.
