Whitecaps blank Hot Rods at Fifth Third Ballpark

PLAINFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Sandy Baez pitched a great game Tuesday and the West Michigan Whitecaps shut out the Bowling Green Hot Rods.

The Whitecaps beat the Hot Rods 6-0.

Baez pitched seven innings and didn’t allow a hit until the middle of the fifth.

The win marked the Whitecaps’ second straight shutout and third consecutive victory. In those three games, they have given up only one run.

The Whitecaps play the Hot Rods again at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Fifth Third Ballpark.
