WALKER, Mich. (WOOD) — A fire forced the Golden Corral restaurant on Alpine Avenue in Walker to shut its doors early Sunday evening.
Kent County dispatchers told 24 Hour News 8 that the fire started in the kitchen at around 6 p.m. Customers were forced to evacuate as the Walker Fire Department was called to the scene.
A suppression system in the kitchen was able to put the fire out.
An employee at the restaurant said one employee was treated for injuries related to the fire. It was not clear Sunday evening how seriously that person was hurt.
The restaurant closed for the evening Sunday. It was not immediately clear whether the business would reopen Monday.
