BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (WOOD) Assisting our nation’s military heroes is a conversation that continues throughout the community. After serving our country, many veterans unfortunately fall through the cracks with emotional and or financial turbulence. So community members came together with Firekeepers Casino Hotel and the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi Tribe for a day on the green to raise funds and relief for vets who have given so much.
The Symetra Tour – Road to the LPGA – will be held Tuesday, July 19 through Sunday, July 24 at Battle Creek Country Club. The FireKeepers Casino Hotel Championship will feature professional women golfers from around the world competing for a chance to win one of ten spots on the LPGA Tour.
Attendance is free and a donation is encouraged. Proceeds will benefit S.A.F.E Place, a shelter dedicated to helping victims of domestic violence and their families. Players in the event also have the opportunity to compete in the Potawatomi Cup which consists of play in all four tournaments hosted by Potawatomi Tribes with the culmination at the Symetra tour final event.
The tournament will be held at Battle Creek Country Club, located at 318 Country Club Drive in Battle Creek, a private members-only course.
