Suspicious items found inside BC substation

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (WOOD) — Several police agencies including a bomb squad were called to a substation in Battle Creek after suspicious items were found inside.

Consumers Energy tells 24 Hour News 8 an employee noticed suspicious items inside a substation on Elm Street around 9 a.m. Wednesday and called police.

Authorities, including the Battle Creek Bomb Squad, have since cleared the scene. 24 Hour News 8 is working to learn what the suspicious items were.

Consumers Energy says the incident didn’t affect power in the area and there were no evacuations.
