PLAINFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Professional golf will be back in West Michigan this week.

The Meijer LPGA Classic for Simply Give runs Tuesday through Sunday at Blythefield Country Club, located in the community of Belmont north of Grand Rapids. Dads who bring their kids on Father’s Day get in free.

More than 140 golfers are competing. Among them will be eight of the top 10 money winners on the LPGA tour this season, including defending Classic champion Lexi Thompson and the world’s No. 1 ranked player, Lydia Ko. Fan favorite Morgan Pressel will also be there.

In the last two years, the tournament has raised more than $1.3 million for Simply Give, which helps stock the shelves of local food pantries.

The Classic is also expected to return to Blythefield County Club in 2017.
