2 hurt in ATV crash in rural Mecosta Co.

MARTINY TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Two people were hospitalized after an ATV crash east of Big Rapids Sunday evening.

It happened around 6:50 p.m. on 75th Avenue south of 14 Mile Road in rural Martiny Township, according to the Mecosta County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities say a 52-year-old woman driving the ATV lost control and it left the road, hitting several small trees and then rolling over.

The driver was taken to a hospital in Big Rapids, while the 60-year-old man who was her passenger was airlifted to a Grand Rapids hospital. Their conditions were not known Sunday night.

Both were wearing helmets, the sheriff’s office said.
