1 hurt after shots fired at Grand Rapids gas station

Reports of eight shots fired near intersection of Leonard and Alpine

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — One person was hospitalized after shots were fired on Grand Rapids’ northwest side Thursday night.

It happened at the Shell gas station at the intersection of Leonard Street NW and Alpine Avenue. There was a large police response there.

Initial reports indicated eight shots were fired. The circumstances leading up to that shooting are not yet known.

The severity of the victim’s injuries are not yet known.
