Maranda Park Party returns to Kalamazoo

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) Maranda and the Park Party team are excited to return to Kalamazoo with an afternoon of free games, activities, and fun for families! There is an unbelievable afternoon planned at Upjohn Park in Kalamazoo today. Everyone is invited and everything is free from noon until 2 p.m.

“We are excited to bring the Park Party back to Kalamazoo! This community has faced many challenges recently. I’m so happy we will be able to bring an afternoon of free fun to families!” Maranda said.

The Kalamazoo Maranda Park Party is bigger and better than ever with even more attractions including the viewer’s choice activity – the Zip Line! Upjohn Park will be filled with more than a dozen local organizations and vendors representing the best that Kalamazoo has to offer with free services, information, and free activities.

Don’t forget to bring your suit! The city of Kalamazoo will open Nicholas Kik pool for free swimming! Kids can also check out amazing rides, play fun yard games with Samaritas, snack on apple juice, Gogurt, and apple dippers from McDonald’s, and enjoy fun treats from the Meijer food truck.

For the first time ever, hot dogs will be grilled on site and served for free to anyone 18 and under starting at 11:30 a.m., while supplies last. Every Maranda Park Party also includes free activities, games, entertainment and, of course, prizes!

Maranda and the Park Party team will be traveling to three remaining communities in 2016, bringing a supersized celebration to all!
