KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — The suspect who allegedly shot a Kalamazoo woman four times during what authorities called a “disagreement” was charged Wednesday.
Kharis D. Richardson, 25, was arraigned on assault with intent to murder, felony firearm, felon in possession of a firearm, felony firearm, carrying a concealed weapon and domestic violence charges in connection to the July 4 shooting.
It happened around 10:30 p.m. Monday in the 1500 block of Krom Avenue. Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety officers say when they arrived on scene, they found the victim on the ground with apparent gunshot wounds.
The victim is still in stable condition, recovering from four gunshot wounds to the upper torso, according to a news release from Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety.
Authorities say Richardson and the 22-year-old victim have children together. The weapon used during the incident has not yet been found.
