Man injured in Kzoo armed robbery; officers searching for suspect

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — A Kalamazoo man suffered a head injury in an armed robbery, and authorities are searching for the suspect.

It happened at 2:27 a.m. Saturday in the 600 block of West Vine Street. Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety officers say when they arrived on-scene, the victim was lying on the ground with a head injury. The 31-year-old man told officers that he was robbed by a man armed with a handgun.

The victim was taken to the hospital. Authorities say his injuries are non-life threatening.

The suspect is described as a black male, about 5-foot-9 to 5-foot-11 with a thin build and wearing a red shirt. Authorities say the suspect was accompanied by another black male who may have acted as a lookout.
