2 hospitalized after SUV runs stop sign in Comstock Twp.

COMSTOCK TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Two men were hospitalized after a two-vehicle crash in Comstock Township.

Deputies say a SVU driven by Frank Tubbs, 24, of Kalamazoo was traveling south on 30th Street when Tubbs ran a stop sign at E. Main Street and hit an oncoming car around 9:25 p.m. Saturday.

The car was hit in the driver’s side door, went off the road and struck a tree.

The driver, 19-year-old Connor Otto of Kalamazoo, had to be extricated from the car by firefighters, according to the Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office. He was taken to the hospital where he was listed in stable condition Monday morning.

The SUV rolled over on its roof after Tubbs lost control. Tubbs was also treated at the hospital and is in good condition.
