HASTINGS, Mich. (WOOD) – A man and his girlfriend have been extradited to Michigan to face charges in the kidnapping and assault of the man’s mother.

Cory Louis Wagner, 27, and Tiffany Chanthavong, 21, are charged with assault with intent to commit murder, extortion, kidnapping, credit card fraud and auto theft in the July 4 incident in Barry County’s Assyria Township. The pair is being held at the Barry County Jail following their arrest and extradition from Rockford, Ill.

Wagner and Chanthavong are accused of beating and bounding Wagner’s 66-year-old mother after she refused to give them money. The woman was allegedly locked in a bathroom and left for dead.

Both Wagner and Chanthavong are being held on $800,000 bond each.
