Power restored to thousands after storms

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Consumers Energy utility crews have restored power to nearly all the customers in West Michigan who lost service after a line of storms swept through the state Tuesday.

More than 18,000 homes and businesses lost power Tuesday evening, according to Consumers Energy’s outage map.  As of 6 a.m., that number was down to around 500 customers with the majority of homes still affected in Kent County.
