Man dies from injuries more than week after crash

BURR OAK TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A 56-year-old man has died more than a week after he was injured in a crash.

Deputies were called to the crash on M-66 at Findley Road in St. Joseph County around 5:30 a.m. on July 2.

Police say Kenelm Digby, 55, of Otsego was traveling northbound on M-66 and crashed into another vehicle which was stopped, waiting to turn westbound onto Findley Road.

The driver of the stopped vehicle, 35-year-old Joshua Rose from Sturgis, suffered minor injuries.

His passenger, 56-year-old Jimmy Whitt from Sturgis, was flown to Bronson Hospital.

The St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department was notified that Whitt died on Sunday as a result of his injuries.

The crash remains under investigation. Once the investigation is completed, the report will be forwarded to the prosecutor’s office for review for criminal charges.
