Man killed in Montcalm County crash

PIERSON, Mich. (WOOD) — Michigan State Police are investigating a deadly crash in Montcalm County that occurred Monday night.

According to initial investigation results, a vehicle driven by Frederick Fahner, 28, of Pierson was traveling north on Maple Hill Road when it collided with another vehicle heading west on Stanton Road around 11 p.m. Google maps show there is a stop sign on Maple Hill Road.

Fahner died on scene.

The driver of the other vehicle, identified as 19-year-old Nathan Mackenzie of Pierson, was taken to a Grand Rapids hospital. His condition is unknown at this time.

It’s unclear if alcohol was a factor in the crash.
