Authorities ID woman killed in Kent Co. crash

GRATTAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Authorities have identified the person who was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Kent County Friday.

It happened around 4:30 p.m. in the 6400 block of Gavin Lake Avenue NE in Grattan Township, east of Rockford.

Deputies say a northbound Chevrolet Blazer, driven by 46-year-old Mara Moore of Clarksville, crashed into a tree.

There were five other people inside the vehicle at the time of the crash, including 19-year-old Makayla Cefalu of Lakeland, Florida, 20-year-old Rosa Moore-Cox of Clarksville and three children – Dixie Tomlinson, 8 months, Haley Tomlinson, 6, and Hunter Tomlinson, 8, according to a news release from the Kent County Sheriff’s Department.

Cefalu woman was killed. Moore-Cox had non-life threatening injuries. All of the children were taken to the hospital for minor injuries and later released, the release said.

Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash, according to the release.

The crash remains under investigation.
