KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — Kalamazoo police say they broke up a noisy party early Sunday after getting complaints from neighbors.
The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety says officers were called to the 900 block of Hays Park Avenue, east of Portage Street, after residents complained of noise and trespassing linked to a large party. When officers got there around 3 a.m., there were about 30 people with several vehicles who were uncooperative and wouldn’t let traffic through.
Soon, there were about 150 party-goers and the crowd became hostile toward the officers, KDPS said. People in the crowd threw bottles at officers.
Eventually, officers managed to get the crowd to disperse. A Sunday release did not specify how.
No one was hurt.
KDPS reminded residents to be considerate of neighbors and abide by city rules about noise and assembly when throwing a party.
