PLAINFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Kyle Dowdy threw 82 pitches for a complete game and the West Michigan Whitecaps shut out the Burlington Bees Sunday.

The Whitecaps won 8-0.

“I think that’s got to be the first time I’ve ever gone nine (innings) with under 90 or 100 pitches at this point,” Dowdy said. “I got to give a lot of credit to the coaching staff, my catcher, and obviously to our defense. A lot of really nice place, a couple double plays that really helped us out.”
