3 teens charged for Van Buren Co. bank robbery

SOUTH HAVEN, Mich. (WOOD) — Three teens were formally charged in connection to a Van Buren County bank robbery.

The robbery happened around 1:15 p.m. Thursday at the Chemical Bank located at 101 W Spring Street in Bloomingdale, east of South Haven, according to a Van Buren County Sheriff’s Department news release.

Later Thursday afternoon, a 15-year-old boy, 16-year-old girl and 17-year-old girl were arrest at house in Lee Township, northeast of Battle Creek, the release said.

On Friday, 17-year-old Ebony Dukes, of Grand Junction, was arraigned in South Haven District Court on a bank robbery charge. Her bond was set at $1,000,000.

The 16-year-old Grand Junction girl and 15-year-old Covert boy were both arraigned in Paw Paw Juvenile Court on bank robbery charges. Both are being lodged at a juvenile detention facility. Their names are being withheld.

All of suspects will be back in court on August 10.
