Walk the Beat in Grand Haven

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) – A big contest is about to get underway to pick an act that could be the next big thing on the music scene. We have David Palmer to talk about “Walk the Beat.”

Walk the Beat is a non-profit organization created to provide children with musical education and raise awareness of West Michigan’s music culture. It puts on a fun event each summer that features musicians performing at 30 locations throughout Grand Haven.

And, Walk the Best is getting you involved in the decision! Visitors can walk from each location to the next and vote for their favorite band. Prizes are awarded to musicians with the most votes in different categories. The winner gets 40 hours of production and recording with Bill Chrysler and Third Coast Recording Company.

Walk the Beat is coming up on Saturday, Aug. 20 in Grand Haven
