GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — If you’re looking to get a pet, you may want to take advantage of an event that will cover adoption costs at two West Michigan animal shelters later this month.
On Saturday, Aug. 13, the BISSELL Pet Foundation is covering adoption fees for all cats and dogs at the Humane Society of West Michigan and Van Buren County Animal Control.
Free adoptions will be available between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. at the Humane Society, located at 3077 Wilson Drive NW in Walker, and between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. at Van Buren County Animal Control, which is at 58040 County Road 681 in Hartford.
Those adopting pets will have to cover licensing fees. You should contact your county to learn more about those fees.
People who adopt a pet at the two participating shelters between Aug. 13 and Aug. 31 will also get a free AdoptBox courtesy the foundation, which contains:
- Toys and treats for your new pet
- BISSELL cleaning products
- 30 free days of pet insurance
- A wellness booklet to help you take good care of your new pet
