Police: Man’s death in downtown Kzoo not suspicious

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — Police say the body of a homeless man was found in downtown Kalamazoo Wednesday morning.

Authorities responded to the intersection of N. Burdick Street near W. Eleanor Street after receiving a call that a body had been discovered.

Police have identified the man as 57-year-old James David Murphy of Kalamazoo.

Officers on scene say he died from natural causes and no foul play is suspected.

A medical examiner was called to the scene. An autopsy will be completed in the six to eight weeks.
