Hundreds without power after storms move through W MI

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Thousands of Consumers Energy customers are waking up in the dark after storms swept through West Michigan Friday night.

As of 6 p.m. Saturday. the following counties had outages, according to the Consumers Energy outage map:

  • Barry: 413
  • Kent: 409

The National Weather Service confirms that an EF-0 tornado struck Allegan County on Friday. As of 4:30 a.m. Saturday, flood warnings are still in effect for Allegan, Barry, Calhoun, Eaton, Kalamazoo and Van Buren counties.
