KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — A Kalamazoo man was arrested Sunday afternoon after he took a shovel to the windshield of a police cruiser.
It happened around 4:30 p.m. outside the public safety building on Howard Street near Oakland Drive. The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety says an officer was exiting the building when he saw the man smashing the windshield.
When confronted, the man set down his shovel and told officers to take him to jail.
He said he damaged the cruiser because he was upset with his girlfriend.
The man, a 48-year-old, was taken to jail. A Sunday release did not specify what charges he was expected to face.
