GRAND HAVEN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — An Ottawa County teen who authorities were concerned about has been found in Grand Haven and is safe, authorities say.

Sunday afternoon, authorities said 16-year-old Gary Vanoort of Grand Haven Township has been reunited with his family.

Ottawa County sheriff’s deputies say Vanoort voluntarily left his home on foot without his phone, money or medication. He had last been seen around 9 p.m. Saturday in a wooded area by 152nd Avenue near Lincoln Street in Grand Haven Township. Deputies were told he appeared to be distraught and may have had a minor injury.
